Dear Members,
First and foremost, I want to thank you — not only for your membership but for being part of an institution that stands as a pillar of service, camaraderie, and community. Our Post belongs to all of us, and together we carry the responsibility to ensure it thrives for generations to come.
This is not simply about maintaining what we have; it’s about moving forward, reenergizing our Post, and reconnecting with the community. We are going to build, grow, and adapt while staying true to the core principles that have always defined the American Legion: Veterans serving Veterans, supporting their families, and giving back to the communities we call home.
Here’s what I’m asking of you — and what I promise as your Commander:
Your Voice Matters: Expect to be heard. I invite your ideas, feedback, and energy. We will explore new ways to engage our members and the community.
Creative Initiatives: From expanding membership to hosting impactful events, we’re not afraid to try new things. Not everything will work — but we’ll keep pushing forward until we find what does.
Stronger Together: Every member is valuable, and this is your Post as much as mine. Whether you can offer your time, your experience, or simply your presence — we need you.
Now is the time for action, not complacency. I’m asking each of you to lean in, participate, and help shape the future of Post 605. Together, we will make it a place where members want to be, where new generations feel welcome, and where the legacy of service continues.
If you haven’t been to the Post recently, I encourage you to stop by. Introduce yourself, bring your ideas, and let’s talk about how we can get to work — together.
We have a great opportunity ahead, and I’m excited to lead us forward.
For God and Country,
Joshua Seevers
Commander
Dallastown American Legion Post 605
